Disability Festival a success!

Wednesday 13th February 2013

The Middlesex County FA Disability Player Development Centre hosted a regional festival at the Ark Academy, Wembley on Sunday 10th February. Middlesex County FA brought nine players to the festival, which also included 10 players from Kent, five from Surrey and eight from Hertfordshire, who were then organised into four groups based on impairment and /or ability.

The aims of the day were to provide players with controlled competitive opportunities and different challenges than those they would encounter in training, while creating conditions for player assessment and to identify long term development opportunities. Players then took part in a series of games designed to assist their development in technical, psychological, physical and social areas.

Despite heavy rain throughout, the session was a success, with plenty of positive feedback from both players and their parents.
