02/ Our History

We were founded in 1997 shortly before purchasing a 99-year lease on a sports ground in Arkley. Planning permission was obtained to install a Multi-Use Games Area and a large bowling green on two separate areas of the field. These facilities were to be used by disabled people in the local area. However, our funding application was rejected by the Sport England Lottery Trust because although they supported the project, there had not been enough partnerships established to show sufficient usage of the new facilities.

The charity has re-grouped over recent years and, with many vibrant partnerships now formed, we aim to transform sporting opportunities for people with disabilities in the local area. However, we still need to drastically improve our facilities if we are to achieve these aims. We want our sporting facilities to be unique in the local area in terms of what we can offer to people with disabilities.
